1.MAKE THE PATIENT TO LIE DOWN IN A SUPINE POSITION
WITH LEGS RAISED(INCRESED VR)

2.LOWER THE BACK OF DENTAL CHAIR IMMEDIATELY,SO THAT THE HEAD
OF THE PATIENT IA AT A LOWER LEVEL THAN THE FEET.

3.TIGHT CLOTHING SHOULD BE LOOSENED

4.MAINTAIN A PATENT AIRWAY

5.ANY FOREIGN BODY,MUCUS OR EXCESSIVE SALIVA SHOULD BE REMOVED
MANUALLY OR WITH SUCTION

6.INHALATION OF AROMATIC SPIRIT OF AMMONIA OR APPLICATION OF COLD

7. SPONGED TO THE FACE HELPS IN SECURING REFLEX STIMULATION

8.CARRY OUT ALL THE ABOVE STEPS IMMEDIATELY

ALLAY FEAR AND ANXIETY,EXPLAIN THE PROCEDURE TO THE PATIENT

YOUNG'S RULE:

Child dose = Age of child/Age of child+12*Adult dose.

CLARK'S RULE:

Child dose = Weight of the child(lb)/150*Adult dose.

that's it now you can calculate according to different child groups.

syncope - vasovagal syncope?

SYNCOPE (in GREEK SYNCOPE=CUT OFF)

A transient loss of consciousness due to inadequate cerebral blood flow, with spontaneous recovery.
Also called blackout ,spell, faint, collapse.


PRE SYNCOPE

Sensation of impending loss of consciousness without progressing to loss of consciousness, but may progress to loss of consciousness.


PREDISPOSING FACTORS for syncope

Anxiety,fear,pain,exhaustion

Fasting,hot environment,lack of proper sleep

Poor health status

Most commonly provoked in standing position.


PRECIPITATING FACTORS for syncope

Cerebral anorexia

anemia

Prolonged attentive standing

consumption of alchohol.

spinal anesthesia.

Supine position in late pregnancy.

HYPO TENSION- CEREBRAL ISCHEMIA.


CLINICAL FEATURES OF SYNCOPE

Weakness
nausea
vomitting
Pain in epigastrium
hunger
Sweating
dizziness
pallor
light headedness
dilatation of pupil
low pulse pressure leading to Unconsciousness with ash Grey color skin
shallow respiration,weak pulse,low BP

Patient falls down,voluntary musculature is relaxed,clonic jerks of arms,twitching of facial muscles.
